LED Light Bulb
1. Will my new ADATA LED bulb fit in a traditional screw-in incandescent bulb fixture?
  ADATA's LED light bulb can replace common screw-in incandescent and CFL bulbs that take an E27 socket. The LED can handle AC power ranging from 100 to 240 volts. Because the dimensions of the LED bulb may be slightly larger than a regular bulb, we suggest you double-check your light fixture's dimensions before using the LED bulb.

2. How many types of LED light bulbs can I choose from?
  The ADATA LED omni-directional bulb is available in 10 watt and 12 watt versions. The available light colors are Warm white (3000K) and Daylight (5000K).

3. What is the difference between the 8, 10, and 12 watt bulbs from your LED product line? How can I choose the right LED light bulb?
  Incandescent light bulb has no big difference on luminous efficiency (unit is lm/w); therefore, we use WATT as measurement. However, there is great difference on luminous efficiency between LED light bulbs, then we need to refer to both WATT and luminous efficiency for our reference. For example, for one incandescent light bulb, its luminous efficiency is 15 lm/w. If we want to use one LED light bulb to replace one 60W incandescent light bulb, we can choose one LED light bulb with luminous efficiency 85 lm/w, 10W. The energy saving will be up to 83%.

The most remarkable difference between traditional incandescent lights and LED lights are their luminous efficiency. In simple words, LED bulbs require much less – upwards of 83% less – energy to produce the same amount of brightness as a traditional incandescent light bulb. Because the power consumption between traditional bulbs and LED bulbs is no longer a means of comparison, the only factor in common between them is their brightness. Brightness is measured in lumens (lm). Use the chart below as an approximate reference when seeking to replace traditional bulbs with LED bulbs.

4. What is the average life cycle of LED light bulb? Is its life cycle shorter or longer than a compact fluorescent light bulb?
  The average life cycle of LED light bulb is 40,000 hours, which is much longer than a compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb. However, the key factor to enjoying such a long life cycle is the quality of an LED light’s power driver – a mechanism responsible for converting conventional house current to the efficient electricity that your LED uses. As with any LED technology, the power driver is very sensitive to temperature. The hotter the temperature your LED bulb operates at, the shorter its longevity. With this in mind, rest assured that all ADATA LED bulb designs have been rigorously tested for extremes of temperature to ensure maximum longevity. ADATA LED light bulbs are also backed by a two-year warranty.

5. I hear LED light bulbs are not easily broken. What kind of materials are they made of that make them so rugged?
  Unlike lower quality brands, portions of ADATA’s LED light casings are built with high-grade polycarbonate (also known as PC, or Lexan), which is a durable transparent plastic compound. By using this material, ADATA LED light products cannot be easily broken.

6. If I have a light fixture that takes five bulbs, can I use incandescent, compact fluorescent light (CFL) and LED lights together? Can I mix different LED brands on the same light fixture?
  There is no problem in using any brand of incandescent, CFL and LED light bulbs together. However, remember that the heat from the nearby incandescent and CFL bulbs will affect the performance and longevity of your LED light bulbs significantly. Make sure not to mix bulbs within light fixtures that are enclosed, such as the multi-bulb fixture shown below. These fixtures were originally designed for incandescent light bulbs, and do not provide sufficient cooling for LED bulbs when used alongside incandescent and CFL bulbs.

7. How much money can I save per month if I change to use LED lighting?
  If you exchange one 27 watt compact fluorescent light bulb with one 10 watt LED light bulb, the brightness of both bulbs will be about the same. However, with a drop in power consumption from 27 to 10 watts, you will enjoy a power savings of about 63%.
8. Regular LED bulbs are not applicable in high humidity and high temperature environments, including enclosed designs, emergency lighting, and exposure to outdoors conditions
  High temperature reduces LED luminosity and shortens its lifespan
Temperature stands as the most important factor affecting LED performance and longevity. It impacts internal LED circuitry, which is very sensitive to overheating. Placing LED elements in enclosed spaces restricts airflow and prevents proper LED bulb cooling. As a result, luminosity is affected and lowered, plus LED lifespan is shortened considerably.
  Humidity causes poor LED stability and shorter lifespan
LED modules absorb moisture, which causes poor lighting performance and stability as well as shorter product longevity. Exposure to outdoor condition also shortens lifespan due to sunlight, rain, and airborne pollution all negatively affecting LED lighting.


LED Light Tube
1. Can I install an ADATA LED light tube inside a fluorescent light fixture directly? Do I need to make any special modifications?
  After you remove the power driver from a fluorescent light fixture you can install an ADATA LED light tube. However, the ballast inside the light fixture will reduce the life cycle of LED light tube. We recommend that you choose a light fixture made for LED light tubes only.

2. There are 2 sockets in my fluorescent light fixture. Can I install both fluorescent light tubes and ADATA LED light tube in my fixture at the same time? What happens if I the light tubes together?
  Generally, you may mix fluorescent light tubes and LED light tubes. However, the ballast inside of the fluorescent light fixture will reduce the life cycle of LED light tube. We recommend that you use an LED light fixture for LED light tube use only.

3. What is the advantage of using LED light tubes?
  ADATA LED light products are energy saving, produce no ultraviolet rays, provide a longer life cycle, operate at a lower temperature, and also lower pollution.

4. What is the average life cycle of an LED light tube? Is its life cycle longer or shorter than a fluorescent light tube?
  ADATA LED light tubes last between 30,000 – 40,000 hours; which is about 1,000 hours longer than a T8 light tube.

LED Desk Lamp
1. Is ADATA’s LED desk lamp suitable for school children? Do they have an anti-glare design?
  ADATA LED desk lamps come with an anti-glare design and are suitable for school children.

2. What is Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)?
  There are many ways to measure light quality. In the consumer lighting industry, one commonly accepted way to determine the quality of a light source is to measure the volume of heat – or “warmth” – that it produces. Pure, or full-spectrum light, white light is a mix of all the visible colors of the light spectrum, including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. CCT refers to the measurement of warmth produced by certain color mixes when this light is shone upon a purely black surface. The black surface used in this measurement absorbs light and turns it into heat, much in the same way sunlight heats up a black blanket much more quickly than sunlight shining on a white blanket. Visible color light comes with an associated warmth that it produces in energy units called Kelvin, sometimes just called “K.” Color mixes with temperatures over 5,000K are called cool colors (bluish white), while lower color temperatures (2,700–3,000 K) are called warm colors (yellowish white through red). To explain this in more everyday terms, the lower the CCT, the yellower the color that shows. The higher the CCT, the whiter the color it shows. If the CCT is greater than 6500K, the light color will turn to a rich sky blue. For example, during daylight, the CCT of the sun at midday is always higher (about 5500K), and the CCT of the sun in the morning and in the afternoon ranges from about 2700K to 4000K.

3. Can LED blue light hurt the eyes?
  Blue light is the essential color of white light, and all white light has blue light. According to domestically and internationally authorized labs, when lights are displayed under the same color temperature, the blue light from an LED light source is not higher than the light from an incandescent lamp or from daylight. The blue light is classified as Type 0 and Type 1, bathyos which are attributed to safe lighting products. Proper blue light can not only enhance the color rendering properties of a light source, but can also help adjust a human being’s biological clock. 4. Do ADATA LED Lighting products acquire any certifications?
  All ADATA Light Products pass national safety requirement for BSMI & CE. Consumers should have no concerns about using ADATA lighting products.
